Coaching Skills

One of the most crucial roles for managers and trainers is that of coaching others to improve both individual and team performances.

Some companies expect their managers to coach effectively through existing interpersonal skills and relationships, alone. This can put a strain on both manager and team member. Handled well, a coaching session can result in clear, improved changes in behaviour; and increased motivation and performance: handled poorly, the opposite may apply.

Foxell’s Coaching Excellence simulation allows managers to coach in a safe environment. It encourages analysis of performance and behaviour through the use of DVD-based interactions. These are produced to simulate key, current issues within your staff.

All data is collated within the computer simulation, and team results are displayed graphically during review sessions. At the end of the course, a detailed management performance report is produced, by team and individual. This provides the basis for on-going personal development plans.

The managers work in teams of three to four individuals. Through a series of role plays, assessments, feedback, and review sessions, delegates practise and improve their own coaching skills as well as observing and learning from role plays performed by their peers.

The Coaching Excellence simulation can be developed to address any management coaching need e.g. improving performance, appraisal skills, handling conflict etc.
